So the case is, as a penultimate majoring in econ and fina, I luckily received SFC's winter internship offer and signed the unofficial contract to confirm the job. But then, I have also just completed the HKMA winter internship interview.

I would like to know if HKMA really gives me the offer, should I reject SFC and go for HKMA, or reject HKMA's offer? Thanks a lot.

Oh wow big congrats!! But I guess before making decisions for sure we would love to know more about some details including: (1) which are your posting departments for both SFC and HKMA? (2) did you have related intern exp before? & (3) what you wanna do upon grad??

Hello Anthony,
Thank you for your response. I just received the call from HKMA that I received the offer luckily. I am very happy about this but at the same time the dilemma for real happens now.
(1) For SFC, I will be joining the Intermediary licensing dept. For HKMA, I will be joining the AML regulatory dept
(2) I don' have any exp related to the regulatory sector, but I do have a few internships before, including working in a PE firm, PwC assurance intern, and also some school corporate projects and startups in my year 1 studies.
(3) Probably finance and banking for the first priority, preferably things related to middle office or back office since I don't think I am competitive enough to get into IB, though everyone knows how bad the job market this year. So I have plans such as studying masters or JD to buy time, expand my technical skills and also increase the chance to get into regulatory sectors (since HKMA and SFC probably hire grads with masters than solely those with bachelors only)

Thanks Anthony.
(1): SFC Intermediary Licensing, HKMA AML
(2): PE + ESG focus, PwC Assurance, startup, school corporate projects in collab with companies
(3): finance and banking, preferably middle to back office, HKMA/SFC/HKEX grad job also fine (maybe after studying masters/JD with the given poor econ environment)
